Let's get scared...

Halloween...

One more Halloween...

Comes around each year...

And each year is the same thing...

I watch movies.... Scary movies!

Let's start the list with ...

To begin... I'll go fun...

#1. The Nightmare Before Christmas from Tim Burton.
A bored Halloween pumpkin king kidnaps Santa and takes over Christmas. This isn't going to be pretty.

#2. The Addams Family
Stepping out of the pages of Charles Addam's cartoons and the 1960s television series, members of the beloved, macabre family take to the big screen.

Let's get a little scary now...

#3. Jaws
When an insatiable great white shark terrorizes Amity Island, a police chief, an oceanographer, and a grizzled shark hunter seek to destroy the beast.

#4. Tales of Halloween
Ten horror shorts set in one suburban town capture the insanity of Halloween, from trick-or-treating aliens to kidnappers in way over their heads.

#5. A Dark Song
Grieving the death of her son, a woman hires an occult to expect to lead her through a psychologically grueling ritual to contact her child's spirit.

#6. The Shinning
A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and the future.

#7. The Evil Dead
Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons.

#8. The Others
A woman who lives in a darkened old house with her two photosensitive children becomes convinced that her family home is haunted.

#9. Let Me In
A bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian.

#10.Carrie
Carrie White, a shy, friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.

Halloween is all about parties, dressing up, drinking and scaring people on purpose to many, but me. I don't like being scared, dressing up is far from what I'm into, and I try to stay as far as possible to parties! Can't deal with them! So for me, Halloween is another fun night in front of a good horror film, a hot chocolate, and candies, warm blanket and having a blast without having to deal with drunk people... If you are like me, I encourage you to stay yourself.

On the other hand, if you are supposed to go party, or go a bar... Please, be careful! Don't drink and drive!

Does Your Film Genre Should Matter? (6)

Movies... Genres...

A film genre would be romantic, comedy, scary, adventure, action, fiction... And we usually go towards a specific genre when we are feeling a bit sad, happy or even in a loving mood. A genre is given to movies to describe them, to give us an idea of what to expect before watching it.
Genres are, in my opinion, your moods, your personality of the day or night. Comfort moods, one day you will go more for an action movie and the next, you might go for a romantic drama when instead of getting pumped for some shooting, you will cry your eyes out because two people cannot be together.
I know, I have my moods, sometimes I'll be more cheesy than other days, but I will definitely go for a mystery, thriller anytime of the day because it catches my intention a lot more than anything else.
Finding your genre is like choosing your type of food... There are many choices, and most of the time, everything looks good.

So when you are in a relationship...

Watching a movie together on the couch or in bed happens, doesn't it?

I know I love to be next to my love when I watch a show or a movie. Cuddle around, being comfortable in a safe place. It sounds amazing...  But the difficult part of it is when you have to choose one movie that your partner will like as well. Tough decision if you both have different preferences. Lucky me, I enjoy every genre, yes, I prefer some on certain night or day, but I'm easy to please even if I have my favorite movies like Amelie or This Beautiful Fantastic. Both odd, indie movies that I cannot put a specific genre on.

Having a special, preferred genre makes it easier for your partner to understand and choose a movie for you. Going to the cinema/ movies will be easier, no stress, no worries because if you know what the other person is into, the movie will most likely be a good choice. Obviously, movies are quite hard to know if it will be a good choice or not, the trailer may give you false hope. I, personally, got disappointed plenty times, the trailer made the film good, interesting and then when you finally watch it, pay to enter the movies, and the film is horrible, the disappointment comes along.

When you first enter a relationship, you don't like the person who will like the same film genre as you, yes, you may end up asking which movie is their favorites, but you won't fall in love based on what they like to watch. It could be a plus, something to add up to the reasons why you love the person, but it won't decide if you are in love or not.

The funny thing about movies and relationships... Is .... The fact that couples do weird things while watching movies...

Another place...

Short Sunday Post:

Moving out, what a process...

I've been watching the "SACCONEJOLY's" vlogs, the old ones, and I came across them moving houses and country. From Ireland to England. It is a big change, something new, exciting but also scary. I learned so much about myself throughout their vlogs and experiences. They show us what they are going through every day, making me realize a lot... It's special!

The SacconeJoly family made me think about all the times I moved houses, city, country. The feelings that come along each time I made boxes, gave up on a lot of my stuff, papers, the happy and sad feelings...

The vlogs really moved me to the point of asking myself how I felt each time I moved places. Most the time I was afraid of the changes. I think I spent a lot more time moving, changing school after my mother's first divorce. That time was a moving experience that wasn't the best... Now after divorcing my stepfather, we have to move again, second time already. Next week will be another experience.
I don't want to lie, but I'm actually tired of moving so much, afraid of the change, terrified even.

The end of September is time for new experiences, autumn came around, and I got a job training tomorrow... The perk of the job is that I'll get enough time to write as well which makes me extremely happy. The job part makes me a little nervous, it's always a change. I'm just afraid my anxiety gets the best out of me.
This coming week is busy between the boxes, the paperwork, the job training, all of my thoughts... Not that exciting!

I don't think I'll be able to post tomorrow morning, but around late afternoon as I'll be either at work or filling out paperwork.

I'll try to talk about the move throughout the week, and if you like to comment your moving story below or by private message, I'll be happy to read and write a post about other people experiences.

Is that wisdom that I'm seeing?

No do not think about the wisdom people get after experiences, but the wisdom teeth...

I'm almost 20 years old, and wisdom teeth started growing. I hate going to the dentist so I avoid it as much as possible, but for a week now, the bottom wisdom tooth is growing and I'm in constant pain.
I can deal with tattoo pain fine, but this pain is unbearable!
To be clear, this post won't be long because I hate talking about my physical pain. Wisdom teeth are usually removed and I cannot see myself looking like a grape after they remove them. I can deal with having them in my mouth! After all, dentists can't really force you to remove them so I'm not preoccupied with this little issue.

Since Monday, I've been dealing with the pain in various ways, first, I was on ice cream (still am, mostly because I love ice cream so much), then I went to whiskey or tequila (I don't do tequila usually but it makes it numb so,) on a cotton ball that I would be stuffed on the wisdom tooth. The perk of enjoying the taste of alcohol helps me a lot in this situation. And finally, today, I decided to warm up some water and throw salt in... A salty mouthwash! It made my pain better, doesn't numb it out like alcohol, but it's something. At least it's helpful...
Other than that, now I can't laugh too hard or else I'll bite on my cheek, and make the pain even worse. I can't widely open my mouth or else it goes insane, so I'm stuck with mashed potatoes, and hot cocoa to fill my little stomach up. Good thing is I love mashed potatoes and really enjoy a cup of warm cocoa!!!!
I don't know how you make your mashed potatoes, but mine is the best! I mash potatoes, add some milk, butter, salt and pepper, nutmeg, and parmesan cheese. Sounds odd, but trust me, it's delicious! It's light, cheesy, buttery and there's a little touch of nutmeg that makes the taste even better. My hot cocoa might also be different from what you are used to hearing... I add some "nesquick" to the milk, a hint of vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and warm up the combination. I love the salt and sweet taste together. They both fill me up completely and I'm proud to say that I do it all by myself ! :) And to finalize the hot cocoa, a tablespoon of Nutella...

How do you make your hot cocoa?

Actually, last time I had a really good hot cocoa, besides mine, was at coffee bean! I'm not a fan of the place, but the cocoa is amazingly good. You should go and try it!

Let's come back to the wisdom tooth issue that has been bugging me for a week.
I've heard stories about how the procedure goes, and how you wake up looking like you have grapes instead of cheeks and how you look really high on medication. Hearing all about it scares me away from doing anything to my wisdom teeth! I just cannot deal with the pain and cotton balls full of blood in my mouth... The only perk that would come out of that would be me eating mashed potatoes, ice cream and drinking hot cocoa.
A friend of mine told me his story, and he got me freaked out!
So he went to the surgery room, they put him to sleep and when he woke up he was bleeding out of his mouth. A little note about me: I faint or throw up when I see blood, I control it, but in this case I wouldn't survive. Good thing my friend isn't afraid of a little blood. He went back home, high, and looking like a champion. My friend can be quite stubborn and he loves meat. So you can guess that just eating mashed food isn't his cup of tea! He decided to go against the dentist advice and tried to chew up the meat. Horrible idea because he tasted blood while eating. This time, it wasn't good at all for him. Apparently, it ended in throwing up on the table from the taste of his own blood that was getting too intense, so he had to put more cotton balls in his mouth and drink smoothies for an entire week.
He wasn't as lucky as my dear mother who had her wisdom teeth taken out, all four of them, and she could chew and nothing happened. She can be an alien at times, honestly, sometimes it looks like she is from another planet.

What's your story? Or a story you've heard?

"Oh, you got your wisdom teeth removed? Must have been because you're such a smart mouth."
