Bree'Osh here I come...

This morning just like many mornings before, I grabbed a cappuccino at Bree'Osh. A little cute place where you can taste a bit of France in their delicious brioche, the best out there... If you do not know what a brioche is, it's a light, sweet yeast bread that is commonly seen as a round shape. It's very common in France.

The owners Pierre and Nelly are French, friendly, and very easy to talk to. If you ever have a question or a simple request, they will gladly answer you the best they can. Like today, a woman came in and asked if they could make a croissant with eggs in. It's not on their menu and they typically use the brioche for the sandwiches. Pierre, the baker, happily answered yes and without any hesitation. To be honest, I rarely met anyone who is as flexible as them.
They have regular customers, loyal ones like me... They know exactly what you take, and for me... A cappuccino and a praline brioche.

Let's talk about the amazing brioches that they make... First, I haven't tried them all, but enough to talk about a few!
The olive brioche is salty but has a twist of fantasy in. I love it with a little salad on the side. Yummy in my tummy... The one that intrigues me the most is the parmesan brioche. Cheesy, but not too much of it either. You expect the brioche to have a strong cheesy taste, yet it is not at all strong, you just have a hint of it which in my opinion is very mysterious! I would actually eat two instead of just one each time.... I'm a cheesy girl and if you love parmesan, trust me, you will want to get this special one! The brioche with the little sugar parts on top is one that many of my family members love, I'm not sure why, but I understand how it melts in your mouth... It's delightful! I'm not a fan of raisins at all, I actually despise it, but this brioche is really interesting. You fall for it rather quickly, not me, though, but I did enjoy it last time I had a little piece.
Some are made as sandwiches with eggs, bacon, goat cheese (one of my favorite), and some other goodies... When you look at their menus you honestly don't know what to choose. Everything seems very exquisite, and even if it's not the biggest menu in town, it's enough to get to stare at the board for a good five minutes, wondering what you should get.

Obviously, I only reviewed the ones I tasted. Next time, I'll have to try something new...

Their new addition to the brioche family, is the croissants, the original ones, and the almond croissants. I've tasted many different croissants in California and trust me when I say that they aren't good. The ones at Bree'Osh are AMAZING! Not buttery like most of them and the almonds are not too sweet. It's the perfect combination and I couldn't thank them enough for adding them to the list of wonderful pastries.

Alright, let's finally talk about my guilty pleasure. It's the praline brioche, the center is filled with a very rich chocolate that only wants to make you have an enjoyable time. I must say it's like heaven on earth. The very first time I had it, I fell in love, and I married it. Since then, all I take whenever I drop by is a cappuccino and the praline brioche.

If you ever pass by Coast Village in Montecito, California, you must go to the little place! The address is 1150 Coast Village Road, Suite E, Santa Barbara, 93108, CA
Email address: info@breeosh.com
and website: www.breeosh.com

You will not find any other coffee shop, restaurant or anything else that shows the French side better than them. You will only find French places that are Americanized. It's only my first time writing about Bree'Osh, but be sure to read more about them... They also have articles in the independent journal... You should check them out on Instagram and Facebook.

Merci beaucoup pour avoir ouvert Bree'Osh. C'est un vrai délice! C'est toujours un vrai plaisir de venir vous voir et de faire la bise, ça manque un peu les bisous!

First post of the day as I'm planning on posting two...

Yesterday, I got a really nice gift from someone I have been talking to for a few days now...
You know who you are!

I really want to thank you for the little video you created for me, it made me smile quite a lot. It was very touching and receiving little gifts is always a pleasure!

Here is the video that was created for me, yesterday afternoon...

The video is lovely, describes me well in the most simple way ever... All around affectionate!

"The greatest gift you can give someone is your time. Because when you give your time, you are giving a portion of your life that you will never get back."

Like the quote said, giving your time is the greatest gift and you gave me your time by creating a little video with my nickname on. You could have used that time to created or work on something else.

Thank you very much! <3 It's lovely!

Most people will appreciate presents that you created yourself more than the ones you buy at a little shop in town.

Little note: The video takes a little bit of time to appear, sorry about that... Let's be patient...

The urgent test...

Sorry, I know I said I was going to write every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but I couldn't resist on waiting another day to tell this stupid story...

So it began this morning when my really good friend that I consider a sister, messaged my mother and me about the exam that I have not yet pass or even taken to get an insurance license thing... I'm not sure how to explain it, but I need to pass the exam (That's all you have to know because that's really all I understood after long hours of talking about it. I'm sure I was half asleep the entire time)...

She has been bugging, annoying the hell out of us for more than six months. When she haven't taken it... What a hypocrite!
I've looked at websites to help me take quizzes and learn about it before taking the enormous 130 questions exam. If you are talking to me about insurance, you lost me at the first couple seconds. I cannot concentrate on anything when it comes to money or numbers in general... It would explain why I had poor grades in math.

To make this a little more precise, I stink at taking exams, quizzes or tests. I would freak out in front of one,  lose control, and forget everything that I studied if I even studied... My anxiety gets really high and unpleasantly I fail most my tests, especially the permit test... It's only 30 questions (I can't remember), and after four attempts on this brutal test, yes it's violent, it asks if you are going to just murder a chicken on a road or just try to avoid it. The answer as you may already know, you kill the chicken. It's logical, you don't want to get into an accident yourself, but then again, you become a murderer... After this experience, traumatic test attempts, I stopped trying to pass the permit, until I get over my dearest phobia, driving....

To come back to the original story, my mother printed a practice test with answers but without explanations.

Telling me "You NEED to take the exam."
I'm not sure what planet she comes from, but I know I won't pass it. But then again, miracles happen... She apparently has faith in me, when honestly she shouldn't. I suck at tests...

Apparently the questions goes around like this:

All of the following are true regarding a mortality table EXCEPT:
A) Is is based upon the law of large numbers.
B) It shows which individuals will die each year at a given age.
C) It is developed by actuaries.
D) It shows the rate of death per thousand at each given age.
Answer: B

to

All life insurance policies and annuities offered for sale to individuals under age 60 in California shall provide a free look period of not less than ___ days nor more than ___ days.

A) 5/10
B) 10/30
C) 30/60
D) 20/45
Answer: B

I don't think I'll make to the end of the packet... Too much to learn and remember... Not a genius!

If you decided to take an exam for someone you love, you can try because you love them... No one said it's going to be easy. Love itself isn't easy...

As the real first one...

I've been in front of my laptop for about an hour, staring at a blank page, wondering what my real first post will be about... And I finally got the solution to my dilemma.

This morning, someone asked me why I write so much... I didn't really know how to answer without any details, yes I'm a detail person, I don't just look at the big picture, what a boring way to view life. There's always more than meets the eye.

My answer was: "I write because I have to. It's an urge that I cannot control. Writing isn't just words on a piece of paper, for us writers, it's our life, our experiences. We bleed on paper..."

Obviously we don't bleed, it's a metaphor, but a good one!

People don't understand how and why people write; they sometimes think it's hard to explain and prefer to talk. Well good news; everyone is different, for some people it's easier to write than talk. It's the case for me and my mother. I actually got her gift, she is a writer as well and a songwriter. I have to thank her for it... One day! When I set my mind to the fact that I ain't the only one in the family who happens to write.

So after answering the same kind of type of questions multiple times before, I want to tell you more about a writer and writing itself.

Although the dictionary defines a writer as: "One who writes, especially as an occupation."

I've got my definition, you do not have to agree with it, just read it.
A writer isn't just one person, its multiple people trying really hard to become one amateur who doesn't quit.

Let me try to explain to you a little better:
A writer observes everyone; everything surrounding them; creating characters out of ordinary people. They live in a fantastic world where everything is possible, and when they block (having writer's block sucks) they turn to their imaginary friend... They write down everything to be alive, and when they cannot write, their world is turned upside down, leaving a fragile human being against the entire world.

Writing seems easy yet it's not, it takes everything you have to let it all down, so don't think I spent three minutes on this because I did not... Hehe

To end this first post, if you ever meet a writer, don't judge them because they are not listening to you or because they seem like they are staring you down... They aren't doing it on purpose, I speak out of experience..

"Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it's the answer to everything... It's the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it's a cactus." -Enid Bagnold

What does it feel to start fresh...?

As a friend once said, technically reading a quote,
" Don't be afraid to start over. It's a new chance to rebuild what you want."

I'm giving myself another chance to prove myself, I can write! Or better try to write... This new blog is up and running for multiple reasons, first being a simple one; I'm a writer, that is obvious or else I wouldn't be on here. Second being a hopeless romantic cheese ball, always in search of love itself. The third being overly sensitive and emotional, I care too much then get hurt really bad... Fourth, having the urge to share my life stories and memories with everyone because I highly think its worth sharing. I'll stop at four reasons being the main ones.

I named this blog "One More Cupid To The List" after I realized that I was good at one little thing, giving love, and my friend who I thank for this, gave me "Love" as my new second name... Even though I already have two middle names... This blog will mainly be about my life stories, memories, and advises, but also movie, tv show, and even book reviews. Talk about music and lyrics, I'm a huge fan! Ideas of trying new products or sharing life experience about baking may also be shared with you.

I needed a fresh start, and I'm getting the chance to have one, so I'm taking it. Don't mind the little expressions I may throw out there like Santa Cleopatra, which is just like Oh my gosh or Mamma Mia... Thanks to the movie Johnny Stecchino (Italian movie or what I call my new addiction).  I may use some Italian or French words now and there just because I can so I'm sorry in advance.

My plan is to write every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If I cannot write on one of those days be sure to read a note of apology explaining the cause of my absence. I'm not doing this to annoy people, just for fun and to share some stories.

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I will enjoy writing it... ~ Bella
