Let's take a mini trip...

While everyone is talking about the white supremacist protest in Virginia, I prefer to talk about my own little thoughts... I understand how dramatic the situation is, how much racism is around and how disappointing it is for America as well as the entire world, but when you elect a president such as Trump, don't expect too much good happening. I ain't surprised, but it saddens me to see how many idiots are pretending to fight for making America great again... I guess people don't learn from past experiences, from history!

Anyways...

Don't think you'll read about one of my past trips even though some are quite interesting! Maybe you'll read about them later on so do not be disappointed...

What I meant by the title of today's blog post is "Let's take a mini trip into my thoughts", one thought specifically.

More tattoos ideas but one that I'm determined to get before the year end, hopefully before October. Last time I checked, I wasn't as patient as many of you may be.

To begin this mini journey, you have to know a couple of things.

My family has lots of origins and Scandinavian origin is part of that. In other terms, I've got some Viking blood running through my veins... So after I realized this little quick fact about me and my family, I started getting interested in the Norse mythology, since then I can't stop wondering lots about them. Thanks to documentaries, shows, and more reading, I'm starting to understand what they are coming from. After doing my own research I came across runes.

If you don't know what runes are well they are letters in a set of related alphabets known as a runic alphabet. It was first known among Germanic tribes around the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. They were traditionally carved onto stone, wood, bone, metal or some similarly hard surface.

To me, they look like symbols, amazing ones. Obviously, Vikings have their own symbols.

Next thing you have to know about me is that everything about mythology or Celtic legends interest me, I'm a fan! You could talk about Greek, Roman or Norse mythology and I would still be here listening to your converse. I would still be interested in the subject because I'm amazed by how fascinating the whole mythology came into life. Cause when you think about it, they are just legends, stories told generation after generation. They became part of history, part of the culture, of a past, present, and future.

The final thing you have to know is that I'm very open to new languages or any form of writing. I don't mind learning new forms of conversations and it usually makes me want to learn, even more, get that brain of mine working.

Alright, the mini trip started when I was looking for other tattoo ideas. As you may already know,  I have a few tattoos and planning on getting a few more.

Before I decided what I really wanted to get on my back shoulder, I was looking around the symbols...
Thor's Hammer: a symbol of protection, strength, consecration, and the integrity of custom and tradition.
The Yggdrasil: is the symbol of the tree of life where the Gods and Goddesses lives. The tree that holds together the Nine Worlds or realms of existence.

The Valknut: a symbol associated with death, the transition from life to death, and Odin.

The Svefnthorn: a symbol that could put someone into a long, deep sleep.

The Vegvisir: a symbol from an early modern Icelandic magical manuscript (and therefore not necessarily a truly "Norse" symbol), which was supposed to help with finding one's way when lost.

The Helm of Awe: a symbol of protection and might, but in a darker and more individualistic sense than Thor's Hammer.

Huginn and Muninn- The Twin Ravens: another symbol associated with Odin as they are his servant. They would be the ones who would report back to Odin each evening of the happenings of the world.

Know that you know a few of their symbols, you cannot stay in the dark with my great tattoo idea, The Helm of Awe.

I got to decide this one because no matter where I go in life, I feel like I need my own protection from the outside world as well as my own. If it wasn't this one, I would go for the Yggdrasil. The tree of life. It's also another symbol close to the Celtic symbol. And even though I'm also Celtic, I wanted something which would be more about me and more Norse than anything.

The Helm of Awe happens to be one of the most popular Norse symbols out there, people have been intrigued by it for centuries, getting the tattoo on themselves. I don't personally want to be like everyone else, but this tattoo has a meaning to me, something familiar and if I can get it, then I won't hesitate! It's a familiar one, a symbol which talks to me...

Next trip... The tattoo artist... Hopefully soon!

Does Your Taste of Music Should Matter? (5)

Music... Music... Music...

I cannot stand the idea of not listening to music. I need it when I get sad, happy, anxious, doing the laundry or cooking.
When I get into a relationship I want to know about the music taste of the partner because....

I. No arguments!
That's right! No need to get into a fight on who's music is going to be played, or how long it should be on. Every couple will disagree on at least two things or more, but at least no matter what happens, music will stay the same. It could be a way to get both of you back in a calmer zone. No needs for talks, songs are going to be there for you!

II. Concerts/ Festivals
You will always have someone to go with you. The fun part of it all is that they will always find a way to tag along because you both have the same taste in music.

III. No complaining when money is spent!
When you talk about concerts and festivals, money comes in, expensive tickets, but let's be honest, when the both of you are on the same page... Money spent on tickets don't matter as much anymore. Remember that time when your girlfriend started complaining about your football tickets? Well, this time it will be different because music makes it different! Half of the time you'll be more interested in taking your other half with you to the festival or concert!

IV. Car trips
Long road trips are beyond boring when both of you are fighting one another. Not only they could get heated and annoying, but it could be dangerous especially when you are driving. So why fighting for hours on who will be able to get that music on. No more stressful situation, kick back and take the whole trip in.

V. Memory sharing!
It's like the first song you danced to or the song that made you cry on your engagement day. Songs hold memories, important ones, sad and happy ones. Memories will stay with you forever!

VI. Mixtapes/ Playlists... Easy!
Do you go on your iTunes and make some playlists for bath times, reading times, homework, cooking... I know I do. When your partner has the same taste in music, making playlists will be easy as pie. It will become a hobby, and mixtapes will be just as easy as these playlists.

VII. Present/ Gifts
No more headaches, no more stress, only too many ideas! When you need to buy a present for someone, the ideas don't show up easily, it will be a headache that doesn't go away easily. I know I've always had some issues concerning gifts, could be hard to buy for someone... It's over! Now, since he/she likes the same music as you, t-shirts, tickets, albums, or posters are there.

VIII. Fashion style!
You both won't have to worry about how your partner looks like because it's about their music style. Band shirts will be completely alright because it is a band that you also love to listen to.

Music may seem unimportant, but if you look at all the people that listen to their music, it turns out to be much more important... So when you have a relationship with someone who ends up having the same music taste, life gets better.

Joyful month...

Happy Holidays!

It is finally this time of the year away! Cannot get enough of the Christmas joy, the smell of all the candles or even the Christmas tree. Can't enough of all the decorations, the little cookies shaped like snowmen, the hot chocolates... Can't get enough of the beanies, the big sweaters, jumpers, scarves.
My season may have ended, all the autumn little pieces of joy may be gone, but let's be honest, a lot of people love winter!
You've got the chilly cold days... You've got Christmas... You've got the new year that comes along quickly after Christmas!

December is such an amazing month for everyone, no matter where you are on the planet. I know I adore December! The decorations, the warm blankets are out again ( I always have them out no matter what...), the scented cinnamon candles, the big socks, and my wonderful beanies!
It's that time of the year where the music is enjoyable enough to turn on the radio, the shopping mall has the fake snow little moments in the evening. Christmas parties all month long, little gifts, pastries, sweets... Shortbread!
Can't get a single December day without joy!

Now, it's also a stressful month as we all have to run everywhere to find Christmas presents!
I gave up trying to find the perfect mix of presents, to make everyone happy... It's hard! So this year I shared one of my brother's gift with my mum, and the youngest of my brothers... Well, I'm also his godmother, so each year he gets one or two gifts from me. It gets tougher each year!

So here are a few great Christmas gifts examples that I would absolutely love to receive, it's cheap and easy!

* Scented Candles (Can't go wrong with that one)

*A cookbook or a Q&A book
I love to cook (invent a lot of recipes but still cook)

*Socks, scarves or beanies (It's useful whenever it's cold, it's not lost)
*A notebook (I've got plenty but I can never have enough, everyone should have one in their bag)

*A jar full of candy or tea bags (Everyone deserves to have a jar of candy next to their beds)

*A LUSH product (You can find some amazing bubble bath products, cream)

*A photo album that you created yourself with quotes, photos that represent the relationship you have with the person! (Cheap, creative, and homemade gifts are usually the one that everyone love because you cannot say "No, I don't like it")

Buying for someone either it's a family member, a friend, a partner, or a coworker can be stressful. You may never know what they truly enjoy doing, or even like. I know that a gift card or a box of chocolates is an easy way to go, but sometimes we want to give something more. Don't get overboard with presents, don't take forever to find the right Christmas card...

Enjoy the holiday spirit, the scented candles, the nice cold weather.

I'm bored... What should I do?

It never really hit me, but I know that it was meant to happen at some point.

A couple of days ago, I was waiting for a friend to come off work so I could get an Uber to get to his place.
I was done with dinner, the dishes, and watching YouTube. Now, usually I'll know what to do, clean up my room, closet (as it is quite messy most the time), write my novel, listen to music or even do little projects. I never really get bored, I kind of always know what to do, or at least I will figure out a few things to do. But this time, after YouTube, TV shows, getting ready, and packing a few things up, I was BORED!
Boredom hits EVERYONE! Don't lie, don't try to hide away, we all have been bored once in our life. And it happened to me a couple of nights ago while waiting on someone. Thanks to him, I got to write about it.

For some people, like my mother, they eat. It's like a stress eating, but it's called boredom eating (alright, I might have made that up, who knows)... Some may just fall asleep... I've seen people fall asleep during church time... Almost happened to me a couple of times, shameful of me.

That night, I looked up the internet and came across this site: http://www.i-am-bored.com/
and this one : http://www.boredbutton.com/

I know it sounds weird, I didn't get to really look into the first site, but the second one blew my mind! You have to give it a try, I had to do it twice, and it has me blown away each time!

So after thinking about it for quite a while, I decided to make a list, short one don't worry, about the things you may want to do when bored...

1. Clean up... I know it's not fun, but it takes your mind away so fast and you end up having a clean, tidy house or room...
2. Read a book! When you finally get into a book,  you won't see the time pass by at all!
3. Cook something, or bake! Invent a new recipe, bake sweets, it takes a while, especially if you are like me, just watch out for the hot stuff, you may end up burning yourself...
4. Call your friend or text them! I know this is an obvious one, but honestly just talking to someone, in general, may end up giving you some cool time!
5. Go outside. I love to walk to my secret little hideout, and looking around, breathing fresh air is always appreciated!
6. Workout. Not something I will do, but I've heard it's nice! You should try it!
7. Prank someone! I've got two younger brothers still living with me, and to be honest it's hilarious to prank them or just scare them when they are coming out of the shower! Make a list of pranks and put them into action! It's hilarious!
8. Redecorate your room. Put more photos up the walls, or rearrange your pillows on your bed... You will like your room a lot more!
9. Write a song, and try to sing it with a background tone! It's fun!
10. Have a bubble bath, it's so relaxing and add a few candles to make it romantic...

Next time you are bored, just believe you can always do something if you set your mind to it! Life can give you times of boredom, but you have to get over the obstacle and move forward!
